You gotta be kidding me...

So, I was taking a look at the Far Cry 2 preview, and on the sidebar where it displays Related Games (or games that are kind of like this one), I saw a game called Red Ocean. The name caught my attention, so I clicked on it to learn more about this game, which I previously haven't heard of. That's when I read the summary snippet.Red Ocean is an FPS action game with an underwater setting - you take on the role of diving instructor and treasure hunter Jack Hard, who stumbles upon a secret Russian cold war research station deep underneath the ocean surface. Where the hell do the writers of these games come up with the names for their main characters? I mean, seriously... I like to think that I have a some what mature mind and I usually look past silly stuff like this, but I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for the developers who decided to name their hero ''Jack Hard''. I mean, even without the perverted inuendo behind the name, how many main characters are going to be named Jack before someone realized how played out that name is? Is every person named Jack destined to be a former military commando turned adventurer who happens upon some mysterious location where he has to fight some variation of mutant-mercenary-communist-nazi-alien-vampire-zombie? I would have probably been interested in the game, and I know it sounds petty, but I don't think I can take the game seriously now - and not just because the hero's name is the equivilant of violent masturbation but because I'm just so damn sick of the name ''Jack''.Your thoughts?You gotta be kidding me...

Reminds me of Alotta F agina (ignore the space after the F, I guess GS is detecting the possible homosexual insult in there) from Austin Powers. :PAnyway, yeah, that does sound like a poor choice for a name. Funny to hear at first, but then it just sounds dumb. The immaturity kills it, really.
