And is alot of fun...
I was thinking of medieval total war 2
Please dont suggest anything too old like starcraft
Suggest me a good RTS that isnt too complicated
Oh it also has to be rts noob friendlySuggest me a good RTS that isnt too complicated
dark crusade isn't too complicated to begin with, but you can get pretty good in it by making good choices. Company of heroes is more complicated, but you should give it a try.
Company of heroes is complicated? COH is the most basic RTS. It should be exactly what you're looking for.
Most RTS games are similar it just takes time to learn the nuances for competitive play. I'd go with Warcraft 3 because if you don't like traditional RTS you can play custom maps like DOTA.

I think Medieval II: Total War is a good idea, and you could try the demos of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and see if you like it. If base building %26 resource management worry you, these two games are good choices.
Even though you said no older games, i'd still go with Age of Empires II The Conquerors expansion is by far the best game i have ever played on any system. I got it back in 2000 and still play it time to time, its just so good.
WarCraft III is easy to understand.
Starcraft.. play through the campain. It has a ''boot camp'' option at the begining and teaches you everything about how to play. Starcraft is also considered by many to be the greatest RTS game of all time. It is my #1 favorite of all time (and it is very simple to learn).
Starcraft and Warcraft. Altough, RTS games are only as complicated as the player makes them, they can be relatively simple, or delve deep into strategy.Examples would be doing the Zergling 6 guy rush to take ot an opponent at the start of the match, or waiting to full upgrade them to become ''Crackling'' and then using Devourer's scourge wherever they are to prevent them from ranged attacks and anhiliate a base.
Dark Crusade is very easy to understand.

you don't read much, do you? I said more complicated than Dark Crusade and if you don't think that: You should replay COH.
Rise of Nations
A superb RTS that is also very accessible to new players.
Another good choice would be Warhammer 40k (like others have suggested)
I say Warcraft 3.It's one of the best,it's good and you won't forget the experience gathered.Try it.GMS rated

definately, all the blizzard rts's seems to flicker my fancy more then R:TW and other ''traditional Rts's.
glest is a freeware RTS which is currently under production, its a relatively small file, and a really good game, easy to understand!
world in conflict! start...drop....order.....army...pwn..repeat as needed
I second WiC. The Total war series are definitly not for a beginner.
Company of heroes is complicated? COH is the most basic RTS. It should be exactly what you're looking for.
Comapy of Heroes isn't complicated? You don't know what you're talking about. The game features:Zonal damage, meaning unit positioning is important - you can't just spam tanks.A complicated-to-manage resource system - you don't just set peons to work mining your gold, you have to actively participate in the resource collection through map control - you also need to plan out which resources are most important to you and fight for them.Micromanagement of special abilities - many units have special abilities which must be used effectively.Combined arms - there are many different unit types, all of which have specific roles, and each unit must be used in combination with others - you can't just grab a load of units and send them in. This is a complicated RTS element.Destructable terrain - as the world in which you play changes, so must your approach. Few or no other RTS games have destructable worlds.CoH may seem simple to RTS veterans - I don't find it complicated myself, but try and be objective. Look at the above list. Just about nothing on the above is in Command and Conquer, as an example. CoH is a great game, but if it's simple, tell me what constitutes complicated in the RTS genre, because I haven't seen much that requires more thought or know-how.Anyway, OP, how complicated is too complicated? Medieval II is great, but you need to be able to micromanage a huge empire on the turn based level, while being able to use realistic military tactics and combined arms on a real time level. It is by no means simple, if you aren't familiar with the genre to begin with.If you want an utterly basic RTS, get Command and Conquer 3. Slightly more advanced would be games like Dawn of War, StarCraft and Total War (I put TW here because of no multiplayer and AI is very limited). Advanced RTS games are stuff like Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander.
Company of Heroes series
