Will crysis run on an 8800 GTX smoothly, or will it be a hog and run bad?

if this game is anything like FEAR or Oblivion when it comes out, a 8800 GTX aint gonna be enough to keep it running smoothly during heavy battles. If so we will all be needing the new 9800 GTX when it comes out.Kinda bad we need to buy new graphics cards every time developers release a system hog of a game, im sure they do it on purpose so you need to upgrade later to enjoy it.who wants to play it first, wait for a new card 6+ months later.. and then play it again just so it runs smooth once uve already beaten it?doesnt make sense.Will crysis run on an 8800 GTX smoothly, or will it be a hog and run bad?

The GTX is a beast! It will run it easily.

According to the developer, an e6600 + 8800 GTX + 2GB DDR2 ram will run it at max settings.



If you overclock you will definitely not need any upgrade.
Omg,why do ppl think that they need some uber/high-end/expencive videocards to run crysis.Of course it will need good card,but saying that it will not run smoothly on 8800gtx is riddiculous.

I'm gonna wait for the demo and see if the game is worth my cash.
My ATI X1650XT runs BioShock on High settings at 1024x768 with a steady 30fps. Crysis will be a better optimised game then BioShock. A 8800GTX will make Crysis run like butter on a concrete sidewalk during the summer.
8800 GTX should run crysis smoothlynow that makes crysis the newest benchmark to test out video cards

And yes people allways seem to forget that good video card is not enough.U can have good VC but if your motherboard somehow sucks (if thats possible combination :p ) than u should not look towards improving you allready top-notch video card...

Ohh yes,CRYTEK DONT HAVE ANNYTHING BETHER THAN whats currently best,4 example in this case 8800GTX.In best case they have SLI.So do u really thinkCrytek would make game that even they cant run?Crytek want to earn money,like every other developing team,and do u think theywill earn a lot by makeing a game that onlyfew ppl can enjoy?There aint lot of ppl with 8800gtx SLI.
Of course they will try to set new standards,so ppl with really old machines will need to upgrade (and upgrade smart i think),but as allready said anything more than 8800gtx is just riddiculous.I think that this new generation of games is pretty much using great technology,and great optimisation,so as we allready saw,difference between low and ultra high in newer games is verry small.Ok,at least between medium and ultra high.

Real annoying.
If you play at 1600 x rez, you should be able to max AND run smoothly.
Well I use 1920x1200 in ALL of my games. I'm certainly hoping my 8800GTX won't let me or my FW900 down. *fingers crossed*

You could also play in dx9 mode and give up some eye candy for higher fps that will own any other game.
