All I can say is that I'll definitely buy Far Cry 2.
The story of part 1 was already amazing.. Gamespot Far Cry 2 preview.

I completely agree russell. I thought with the fact that it's not Crytek, and it's coming to 360/PS3 that it would be so-so, but all that I've seen so far is really promising, and the GFX look great and, according to the staff, works well on a single 8800GT.Head over to gametrailers to see a 20 minute pre-alpha demo of it if you haven't, it is looking cool for sure.IMO it looks like Far Cry updated to 2008 technology but changed to a free-form envrionment. Good stuff, though I like the open-ended mission-based gameplay of Crysis and Far Cry ovcer the 100% free form of STALKER and Oblivion.Only time will tell! Let's hope for a demo!
I'm probs gonna max it with my 6600GT right?

It was pretty cool.I wouldn't lump STALKER in the same boat as Oblivion for free-roam. STALKER isn't free-roam, it's more like semi-semi-free-roam (one semi for the fact that it's only free-roam in each seperate area, another for the fact that each area is generally more of a very large linear environment than a totally free-roam one [again, generally]).

Far more interested in Far cry 2 then Crysis. Might even donate my Crysis in the disappointment can.

i still doubt the graphics will surpass crysis, looks liek a good game though

Bump
I wonder if I will be able to run it on my new PC..AMD Dual Core 6000+256MB DDR3 GeForce 8600GTS Silentpipe 32 x 1GB DDR2 RAMWhen I chose that 3D-card I didn't know of the 8800.. And I'm not really into hardware and all that, but I'm afraid my 3D-card won't last long, especially for games like Far Cry 2..

It is a compilation of free roaming environments connected in a very linear way.
i don't know if i am reading too much into it or not but does 'console versions will feature all the content of the PC versions' means that console versions are different from pc version but will just have the same gameplay content ?
i like the going to sleep to toggle to day/night idea - also I loved the original tropical island setting, but i like the sound of the new setting and can see the advantage of the open map. i've not played 'Oblivion' so that's a new concept for lil' ol' meI've seen someone in the comments after the report complaining about the specs, but i've always taken it as a given that any new game's gonna be pretty high-spec - after all, these games make an initial spiked income through early buyers, then if they're any good, there's a long steady tail of sales as people wait for price cuts/computer upgrades
I'm really looking forward to it. I think it'll be cool if you can have some sort of an inventory like in STALKER....So anyone who ran crysis will run this one aswell?
I lost a lot of trust from Ubisoft, when they said FC 2 is going to be an exclusive and then just confirmed the game for consoles, but I hope the game is good and it isn't ''consolized''
