I'm a real fan of MMORPG and I'd like to know what's the opinion of the professionnals. Which one is the best out there..? But here's the trick.. I've played WoW and I'm completly bored of it (fighting over some loot, power leveling and the number of ******* playing this game is astonishing.. but anyway).. So WoW isn't in the choice.Plus.. do you think the upcoming ones (Age of Conan, Warhammer Online) have a chance to be even better ? Your opinion people... Best MMORPG out there
I've played WoW, EQ2, FFXI, and LOTRO. I wouldn't recommend FFXI unless your a huge fan of the final fantasy series because the game is mostly a huge grind and you can't do anything solo. It takes hours to find a party to level sometimes. LOTRO is an ok game. It has amazing graphics and is very fun to explore in that game. The combat system is very crappy imo though. I would only recommend it if you were a huge fan of lord of the rings. EQ2 is a pretty good game. Lots of classes, customize characters in depth, and decent combat system. The combat system is sort of similar to WoWs. I would say this is the 2nd best mmorpg out of the ones I named following behind WoW. The community is a lot more mature and friendly in EQ2 then in WoW. If you want to try it out before purchasing there is several trials you could download. Also if you decide to buy the game there is a new version of it for $40 that includes all of the expansion packs and adventure packs. Best MMORPG out there
I too am a WoW veteran. I too am bored of it, although i loved the time i had on the game. Warhammer is the MMORPG that has me excited above all others. I loved PvP in WoW and the PvP in Warhammer sounds amazing. I tried LoTR online after i finished WoW, as well as Everquest but found both of these a little too serious and maybe too hardcore.Personally i am waiting for Warhammer.
City of Villains. There is an official review from the staff here, and many users (like me) write a review about the game, I invite you to go read them.
tabula rasa? i was watchingmany vids of it and many ppl say its a new fresh game that everyone should try out...i migt go for it
Ya see, the reason why the majority of pay 2 play MMO's flop are basically because they bring absolutely nothing new to the table, lets face it, when wow came out it re-engineered the MMO practically. WAR looks like it has potential to make or break itself, with the fact PvP is so heavily relied upon, if its good it will make this game thrive, but if its bad, itll totally break the game, the next massive MMORPG if you ask me will be AION, which actually brings new things, death being a part of the game, and flying combat, plus it runs of the unreal 3 engine so looks mint.
chimera1984 wat about tabula rasa is that a good game?
http://www.darkfallonline.com/http://forums.darkfallonline.com/http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=43318
He asked out there.I recommend to check out Dark Age of Camelot, EVE Online, EverQuest 2 and Lord of the Rings Online.
I am a WoW player, and yes I too get bored so I take breaks upwards of a few months. But I will be honest, I Have tried a lot of the recent MMOs and I always say ''Its good, but not as fun as WoW''Ive tried LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, and others and they just get boring too fast.I recommend EVE, its the only 100% unique MMO out there. No elves, no talent points, no magic...just space ships, skill points, equipment, and an awesome community to boot.
Well i found the tabula rasa client to be extremely buggy, LORTO brought nothing new to the table apart from crits during crafting, EVE is only for the hardcore, EQ is so far forward a new player would struggle to find there place in it.
age of conan hyborian adventures but its only in beta currently.
LORTO brought nothing new to the table apart from crits during crafting
I think Ultima Online had that too.. so LOTRO wouldn't have anything new then.. :)
WoW killed MMORPGs all together so find something else. It made the genre extremely easy and forgiving. I mean you don't even have to do corpse runs or lose exp when you die? Haha give me a break. Soloing to max lvl? What is this? Max lvl in a month? Hahahaha. EQ1 before the PoP expansion was where it was at. Sadly kids are getting lazy so they need max lvl within a month and solo so I will never see a EQ1 again. One last thing. No corpse runs? Hahahaha. MMORPG on training wheels that ruined the entire genre.

THe best MMORPG's are long dead and gone, at least compared to what they were back in the day. Ultima Online, the original Everquest, early Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call......They just aren't the same anymore, and I doubt they ever will be.

no I think you missed it buddy. WoW hasnt killed MMORPGS, infact its made it a lot more popular. The only single context devourment423 and you sir can be right on is that WoW has raised the bar on mmorpgs thus killing crappier mmorpgs to come out without forcing them to relook it and see if it has that funfactor to drag players away from the ultra powered magnet that is WoW.

No other game had me terrified every single second I was on since pre-PoP EQ1. There is no death penalty in these games any more. I don't fear anything in WoW.... even if it can kill me ten times over.

And if your on a PvP server you basically have to group after 30, and if you want to do what makes WoW great you need to party anyway. and You do have to corpse run?
