Anyone making the switch from WoW to WAR when it comes out. Im for sure gonna check it out, but i dont think im gonna get balls deep into another MMO.warhammer online or world of warcraft
WAR will probably suck, like all supposed WoW killers.warhammer online or world of warcraft
I don't think WAR will be out until Sept 08 anyways seeing as it's been delayed to Q2 08 i think it'll be delayed once more.
Warhammer is getting an unfair lable as a WoW clone. Besides the fact that WoW itself is a ''clone'' of older MMOs like everquest and Ultima Online, the world of warhammer is alot older than warcraft so if the visual similarities would be better described as warcraft borrowing from the warhammer universe. That stuff aside, if you've played Dark age of camelot then you know what warhammer is going for. It's the same dev team and it has a similar pvp focus with super large scale city invasions being the pvp endgame. No, it's not going to destroy the WoW beast, but it already has two solid communities to draw from (Daoc and warhammer) and it should carve out a good place for itself among those who prefer a more pvp centric mmoI stopped playing wow but I plan on checking out warhammer when it drops. I hope i can get into the beta
Nuts to both of them, wait for the Warhammer 40k MMO.
yea its unfair to call WAR a clone since it isnt even out, and just because its a mmo doesnt mean its gonna be a WOW clone, that would be like saying mortal kombat is a street fighter clone just as a example. who know maybe im gonna eat these words and its gonna be just like WoW but with more pvp. WoW was a sweet game, i just want a change pace, a faster pace would be nice, i felt like i forced myself to lvl 70. hopefully WAR is fun enough to enjoy playing to the lvl cap
I don't think WAR will be out any time soon or be a WoW killer. Don't even think BETA will be back up till end next year. Just one of those things they keep pushing back and keep beating around the bush about. Hope I'm wrong, WAR looks like fun. But WoW is a unstoppable juggernaut or really Blizzard is. Just go to the official site. They have it all, figures, prizes, comics, art, lore, videos, x-pacs, and soon a movie(yes, a blue confirmed a movie in works). WoW is here to stay, whether WAR is a hit or not. People still play EQ, and FFXI. Which are both great worlds. I quit WoW a while back too. Wouldn't mind trying out WAR. I still stop by WoW, every now and then. But not for long. It's the next gen games. I have trouble ''settling'' for WoW like graphics and game-play. When I could be playing better. Even if I can't have the RPG like character builds. The communities I rotten to the core anyway. At least I can kill everyone for it. :twisted:Not MMORPGs, but just for PvP. Which is what I love about online gaming. MMORPGs without PvP are just masterbation Point and clicking till your fingers lock up. I played EQ, FFXI, Eve, WoW.... you name it. Every point and click RPG out there. It just gets old. Even if you have top notch ships, gearz, jobs, whatever. If I can't use what I spent weeks earning to smash faces, I just don't want to bother anymore. Some have decent PvP systems. But you still can't smack anyone you want to death. Then there are always easy-mode classes. Which are supported by the Devs, for casual players/profit. (better not go in that direction :P) It's just, I'd rather keep my money, and play games online that don't require ridiculous monthly fees, have way better graphics, way better PvP matches, and don't puke on my senses with repetition, every time I log on. Whats that thing called real online gamers like...? Oh yeah... Skill!

The rest of your post was rambling so I wont bother replying. The only thing i'll say is a repeat of what I posted earlier. Warhammer has it's own fanbase. And this is a spiritual sequal to DaoC which brings along it's fanbase as well. Warhammer will be successful, but it wont be a wow killer....but it isnt trying to be, either.
I'm very excited! I thought WoW kind of sucked, but I had been so excited for it. WAR seems to be everything that WoW should have been, so as it sits, I side with WAR.The funny thing is that the Warcraft universe was largely inspired by the Warhammer universe, so WoW is really a Warhammer clone. lol.
neither. don't lose your life and money to mmorpg's. It's pointless. just try a free online game like Diablo 2.

WoW will still remain strong even with warhammer because all ''WoW Killers'' sucked

Neither. Age of Conan is the way to go.

Thats a given. WoW is based in the Warcraft universe. What the poster was saying is that the entire warcraft universe borrows heavily from the warhammer universe. It's true, at least from an artistic viewpoint. Blizzard borrowed heavily from the warhammer 40k universe as well, for starcraftDo some research. Look at some images from warhammer, warhammer 40k (seperate universes) and warcraft/starcraft. Notice how similar they look, then remember that warhammer was born in the early 80s, while the first warcraft appearance was in the 90s
Hopefully Warhammer strides for balanced and competetive pvp gameplay, meaningful end game, etc etc.. WoW in the end turned into a pointless grind fest to me where skill was non existent, all you had to be was competent.. This was true for alot of MMO's but at least they had thousands of different items, raiding areas etc etc.. WoW lacks in all, it has a generic Final Fantasy type items advancement.. Nothign was better then getting a final piece to something which you took for ever, only to run by 4 people who liked just like you with 99% same gear in a major city. These problems are only dramatically magnified with a horrible community that is not only swamped with the typical immaturity of Blizzard communities (sadely), but it is chalkd full of little kids.. Don't get me wrong it was a great game for the most part from 1 to like 50.. And it was somewhat enjoyable at the end game.. But to me any prolonged playing of that game at the end game basically stopped and made me wonder wtf was I doign? Raiding areas ludrcrious amount of times wher eyou spam 5 skils? All for a drop that you may not get intill after 45 runs? This is my take on the game, I am by no means saying it is a bad game.. I just prefered other mmos out there like EQ and EQ2.
Does anyone know when War is coming out and i think i am going to go to war to try it out because i already play wow so i want to try something different
