To begin with, I am a total PC gaming noob.Well I am planning on buyingArea-51?m9750, customized as such:-Dual Nvidia 8700GT, SLI enabled-Intel core 2 Duo, 2GHz 4MB Cache, 667MHz FSB-2GB RAM DDR2-160GB Hybrid drive.I do also have some noob questions.1.What would you change, (same money about 1500?= 3000$), in that Laptop?2. BUMP! please guys!New Laptop (mostly for gaming and Innov8 tool), advice please...
It'll probably run great for some games, but you need to think of whether or not battery life is a consideration. My laptop has a 8600gt, and the battery lasts a couple of hours. But if I start playing games on it, I only get about 45 minutes. If your gonna be plugged in all the time, then just ignore this post.
Thanx mate, yeah battery life is of no importance at all. Anyway, cheers!
anyone else?
1.What would you change, (same money about 1500?= 3000$), in that Laptop?Good configuration, in terms of value for money.2. Is there a better (performance) solution for the same or less money?Dell is a good alternative. Probably a little less than Alienware, since Alienware is more custom built based.3.Is there big difference between the 8700GT and a normal 8800GTX desktop computer? Not really sure. But Im sure that 2 of the 8700GTs should come close to the 88GTX if not better.4.CAN I PLAY CRYSIS IN MEDIUM-MAX in 1280x1024 ? ? ? ? ?Yes.
Thank you very much my friend!
I just got an Alienware laptop. Almost the same specs. Heres mine:m9750Dual 512mb GeForce 8700M GT - SLi EnabledWideUXGA 1920x1200 LCDIntel Core 2 Duo T7600 2.332gb RAMVista Home Premium160gb 7200 Hard driveSoundBlaster X-Fi One thing, its hard to get better drivers. You first have to uninstall the driver of the top card, then install the new driver. To set up SLi, you have to go into the Nvidia controller. If i could paste, i'd link the site of the how-to install a new driver. But its worth it imo. Its a little big and heavy, i'll be getting a small laptop later though.About Dell, they own Alienware now. IMO i still prefer Alienware.
