GunZ : The Duel, NA EDITION

since theres no post here that does gunz any real justice besides it ''sucks'' or ''It is amazing'' id like to tell ya'll bout it :3


I've been on GunZ for over 3 and a half years now, and I'd like to tell you all about GunZ ^_^

For starters, GunZ online is a TPSMUD (Third Person Shooter Multi User Dungeon [Counter Strike is a MUD]). A lot of people come in, play GunZ, and say it sucks. They normally are the players who are FPS players, or RPG Players. The reason is probably because the graphics are not that great, and is a far cry from any newer games. Another reason is that the system to learn gunz takes a while. The last reason is probably because they can't figure out how to hit people. So what can you do?

Inside of gunz, the fighting is very interesting.

To start off, there are quite a few different modes of gameplay.

1) Death match (Constant re spawning until set amount of kills are reached or timer runs out)
2) Berserker (1 player is berserker, and gets a huge weapon dmg boost, and everyone else is hunting him/her)
3) Team Death Match (Teams of players [2,4,6, and 8] fight eachother until the time runs out or one side of the team is annihilated.
4) Team Death Match Extreme (Cross between Death match and Team Death Match)
5) The Duel (1vs1 games)
6) Gladiator (Death Match Swords only)
7) Team Gladiator (Team Death Match swords only [usually 1vs1 Bow rules])
8 ) Assassination ( Team Death Match where you must kill the target on the opponents team [will have a red or blue aura around them])
9) Training (No experience gained or lost and No Kills or Deaths Accumulated.)
10) Quest (up to four players take on hordes of NPC monsters)

i probably forgot a couple of game types, but oh well, those are the general ones.


Next, You have a selection of a few weapons, which are separated by levels.

Example : Shotgun Lvl 5, 6 DMG (per slug [theres 12 slugs a shot]), 3 shots. Shotgun Lvl 10, 6 DMG, 5 Shots and so on.

The main weapons are..

Melee Types :

Katana - Highest damage, slowest delay.
Kodachi (Dual Swords) - 2nd Highest DMG, Less Range than katana, and mid delay
Dagger - No Block (like on swords), lowest delay, lowest damage.

Ranged Type :

Pistols (single or double): twice as fast as revolvers, half the damage
Revolvers (Single or Double): Slower than pistols, twice as much damage
Assault Rifles : m14 type of guns (nuff said)
Rocket Launcher : oooh. rocket XD
SMG (Sub Machine Guns) (Dual or Single) : Picture an UZI. nuff said.
MG (Machine Guns) : Decent damage, 120 bullets per clip, and the accuracy is horrible. Amazing on high ping players.
Shotgun : The most common weapon in GunZ

Items

Med Kits : HP or AP regenerative items
Frag Grenades : Explosive grenades that do damage.
Smoke Grenades : Grenades that creates clouds of smoke
Flash Bang Grenades : Grenades that temporarily blind and deafen the oponent
Elements : Premium items that are equipped on your sword, and cause an effect when a massive strike hits.

Along with weapons, you also get to choose your armor and boost your HP and AP, which are categorized as premiums and commoner armor (premiums are bought, commoner items are bounty items)

As far as base customization, you really don't get many choices. 4 hair ****, 4 faces, and male or female.

NOW then, Going onto actual game play in GunZ

GunZ is actually quite interesting because there are actually 3 **** of game play, which relies on what weapon you choose.

K-****: Korean **** It is called Korean ****because it originated in Korea GunZ, and was brought to IGunZ by a player named Korean (AKA Kraise) This is all about glitches based on sword. The video at the bottom is all about K-****moves (I made a guide for it :3)

D-****: Dagger ****is all about using your Dagger in game play, and is seriously hard to use compared to K-**** as you must use distance, terrain, and ping to your advantage.

E-****: European ****(Why its called that, i have no clue). You know, all i know about this ****is that you use your terrain, sword, and mainly automatic weapons. It isn't very fast button spam like K-**** and tends to annoy alot of K/D-****s.


Now, as far as buttons go, you use WASD to move, Q,E,1,2,3,4,5, and SHIFT (all of this is customizable) Now, to Dash or Tumble, you need to hit W,A,S, or D twice in fast succession (yea, real turn off for people who just like to hold it down and go as fast as possible eh?)

Now, the screwiest thing about GunZ, is it's aiming system. UNLIKE all other games, you don't aim for where you see your opponent. You need to aim ahead of your target depending on your ping (it an be up to 4 whole bodies so it hits). The reason for this is because GunZ handles damage by where your computer is seeing you, not where your opponent is seeing you.

Now, Due to GunZ having a whole hierarchy of moves separate to each **** no match can ever be the same really. Reflexes, Experience, and such are all key to winning.

Another weird thing about GunZ, is that you literally have to spend hours practicing a move so you may use it in game. So the more practice you put in, the better you will get at moving.


With all of that being said, you guys think one of 2 things.
1) WOW. GunZ looks awesome!
or
2) WOW. GunZ looks like a POS.

Ive played that game and its really boring 1/7 of the people who play it hack 1 quarter lag and half butterfly all the time.the last time the game was updated was probly 2 years ago and it gets boring easily!!.
