Okay kids I'm back again and guess what? I got my new computer!! So happy - It can run everything including Crysis, COD4 and Bioshock. Now I just need to know which game to buy. Normally I wouldn't be so concerned about spending $100 (au) but I'm feeling the pinch a bit after buying the new system. So what is it going to be? I am leaning towards COD4 but i'm only held back by the length. I have never really gotten into multiplayer before since I had dial-up for so long I guess. (Edit: I have cable now though) Does Multiplayer go towards your download bill? What about this Bioshock? How good is it? I played a little bit of the demo - the opening was so impressive but you can't save it so I didn't play much of it!! 20 hours I've heard which is more like it!!Crysis just didn't grab me for some reason! That game is hard ! Even on the easy setting ol' man Loser really struggled seeing in the jungle! And the interface leaves something to be desired...maybe you just have to stick with it. For a (mainly) Single Player Experience: Bioshock or COD4?
Oh gee it all looks good you cant really go wrongFor a (mainly) Single Player Experience: Bioshock or COD4?
Oh gee it all looks good you cant really go wrong
I know they are both quality games - I am not doubting that. But I just can't decide between the two. Mainly concerned about value here. $100 (au) is a fair amount for a game I'm probably going to play once maybe twice.
Like you i got myself a new machine recently and have just started working my way through a whole stack of games my old one couldn't handle.started with F.E.A.R., followed by Extraction Point, both of which i enjoyed but not sure I'd bother going through again.Am now playing my coveted metal tin edition of Bioshock (as far as i know exactly the same as the non-metal tin one except it's got, errrrr, a metal tin...) - am about two-thirds -to-three quarters of the way through - despite reading some negative reviews before i played it, i love it - the design of the underwater city is fantastic and i've not got bored of it for one minute. Also the way you can use plasmids and set all the enemies on each other is a great laughIf you're an experienced FPS-merchant i'd play it on the hardest setting by the wayThe main thing though is that it is one of the smoothest games i've played, which i was worried about but it's playing like a dreamBUT i'm looking forward to getting Crysis - got a few other games to get through first, though including Stalker

Hey thanks for the comment! Lets be friends!! What made you choose Bioshock over COD4 though? I'm sort of fearing that if I get one I'm not going to get the other for quite a while....I am going to university in March afterall...oh and Assassin's Creed is out about that time ahem....
Definitely Bioshock. Both games are great, but COD4's single player is just too short. Bioshock is all about SP, it doesn't even have multiplayer.
Go for Bioshock ! CoD 4 is just to short to last you for a long time, the emphasis is on the MP. I would also recommend crysis. Yes i red what you said about it, but if you get into to it it's a great SP experience
To sum up:
Crysis > Bioshock > CoD4

Not only is CoD4 painfully short, it is also repetitive. It s basically the greatest ten minutes of FPS gameplay repeated 10,000 times. Very linear too. You may as well watch a war movie. You aren't missing anything by not getting that game.Bioshock is not particularly great either, but it is marginally more immaginative.Personal choice would be S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the simple fact that there is nothing like it. It's not for everyone though, so probably not a good choice if you don't plan on getting any more games in the near future like you suggested.
Crysis single player is simply awesome the first time you play through it.. however it is VERY short and even though its such high quality the whole way through, because it's so short i dont think it's worth the money. If your going to play multiplayer then maybe it is worth it though. For single player there are many other games out there which are far more deserving for your money. Havn't played Bioshock (heard mixed opinions), the demo seems ok though.STALKER is one game i highly recommend, i had no problems with installation, not problems running the game, came across no bugs etc like others say.. the game runs smooth as silk on my system and looks amazing. Not only that but the gameplay is great. STALKER is one of my favourite games. Id heard so many negative comments so i had low expectations.. but after playing the game its simply awesome and i highly recommend it to anyone looking for a single player game with great atmosphere, action and that looks great.

Can you compare its length to the other games perhaps to give some indication? I'm not saying I won't be buying games in the future but it might be a while between drinks per se.
Call of Duty 4 really is extremely short... It will probably take you 8-9 hours to beat on Veteran out of sheer trial and error necessary at the hardest level, but that probably won't be all too entertaining. COD4 is great if you like replaying your games over and over again (it does have Arcade mode after you beat the game, where you can play through single-player levels and try to get bonuses/high scores), but if you're gonna play it once and be done with it, definitely go with Bioshock.
I'd say COD4, I really liked it....but bioshock was good too, and alot longer then COD4, and you get a really good multiplayer with COD4...by the way what're your PC's specs?

CoD4 was about 10 hours for me on Veteran level. That's after dying quite a bit too. 10 hours is about the minimum for Bioshock. Bioshock can go up to 20 hours depending on how frugal you play and how curious you are about the setting. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I lost count.

Crysis......:)
Its out of Bioshock and CoD4 - Not Crysis - I can't decide. COD4 hasn't been out that long - should I wait for a price drop?
Crysis, ignore the other 2.
Depends, CoD4 if you like intense action, and CoD4 is a really good entry game to mp. Bioshokc however is an easy game, and its got great atmosphere and a cool story. Overall Bioshock is the better sp game. Id recomend checking out STALKER, HL2, and youd might like Oblivion.
